Hey Shorty

This might be the silliest post I've ever made, and I realize that's saying something.

In shortest form, I'm up for a Shorty Award in the blogger category.  Will I win?  I doubt it.  But I'm interested in collecting votes regardless, and I'll explain why.

This blog isn't what I originally intended.  With its tongue-in-cheek name, it was just supposed to be something fun to do twice a week.  But it gave me a voice, and I realized that I wanted to use that voice to be so much more than goofy.  It's just who I am.  I would rather spend my time telling you about how you can turn this world around than about the latest funny thing the cats did.  (Though I enjoy doing that from time to time too.)

I can't help thinking that if people vote for me for a Shorty Award, it's going to make the blog get some extra traffic.  After all, the address is on my profile at the awards site.  More traffic for the blog means that more people learn about the charity or good deed or whatever it is that I'm promoting in each post.  More people learning about those things means, at least in theory, more people doing something to help.  So if people vote for me, and spread the word that I exist, it could have far-reaching benefits to various good works organizations.

And I am, of course, all over that.

So if you have a Twitter (which seems to be required for voting), I would be very much appreciative if you would click on this here link and cast your vote for me.
